countrylife-coverThe magazine is on sale from 28 July and includes photos of the Battersea Royal Mail stamps issued this year to mark the Home’s 150th anniversary, and the front cover features the 10 animals who appeared on the stamps.

The weekly title interviewed Chief Executive Claire Horton about the Home’s 150th anniversary for a double page feature . In the article Claire talks about the increase in Staffordshire Bull Terriers and rehoming animals to rural homes.

Claire also explains how the Home’s ‘kennel enrichment’ programme helps make dogs’ stay in kennels more enjoyable, and talks about meeting new Minister Lord Henley, whose Defra portfolio includes companion animals.

The magazine also spoke to the Home’s president, Prince Michael of Kent, who owns a beautiful black Labrador called Shadow, who came from Battersea.
