Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims never to turn away a dog or cat that needs our help. We reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners, care for them until we can find them new homes, and educate the public about responsible pet ownership. Every year we take in around 9,000 dogs and cats to our sites in London, Berkshire and Kent. You will assist in caring for Battersea's dogs and cats on our Windsor site - maintaining standards of hygiene, nutrition and welfare as set by the Home. As an Animal Welfare Assistant you'll act in the best interests of the animals in our care and ensure the highest level of welfare is delivered at all times. You'll support and work closely and harmoniously across the whole team – to include colleagues, Seniors, Managers and Senior Management. A self motivated and pro-active person, you will have excellent organisational and communication skills and be a proactive and willing individual. Previous experience or working with animals, preferably dogs and cats and in a rescue environment are desirable. There are two roles available; one is full time and one is part time as follows: Full time – 40 hours per week including weekends and bank holidays Part time – 24 hours per week; every Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Every year we take in around 9,000 dogs and cats to our sites in London, Berkshire and Kent. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and caring RVN to join our small, friendly team. Based at our superbly equipped clinic in Old Windsor, you will join us in maintaining the high standards of animal care we pride ourselves on. If you are a team player with a passion for your job, we would love to hear from you. You will work 40 hpw, 8am – 5pm, no evenings or night duties, on a rota basis to include some weekends and bank holidays. CPD fully funded and encouraged.
