Press Office
At Battersea Dogs & Cats Home we aim never to turn away a dog or cat in need of our help. We reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners; when we can't do this, we care for them until new homes can be found for them; and we educate the public about responsible pet ownership. Every year the Home takes in around 12,000 dogs and cats. In addition to the site in south west London, the Home also has two other centres based at Old Windsor, Berkshire and Brands Hatch, Kent.
Battersea has been around since 1860 and as you would expect from the oldest and busiest London dog and cat rescue centre, the Home is brimming with interesting stories.

FAQ
Got a question about the Home? Please read our Frequently Asked Questions.
Annual Review
Since Battersea Dogs & Cats Home opened in 1860 we have produced an Annual Review every year to allow all our supporters to find out what we've been up to during the year. Please visit our corporate publications page for last year's review.
Publications
The Home produces two magazines. Paws is targeted at adult supporters of the Home and Fantail is for all our junior supporters. Both magazines feature happy and sometimes sad stories about ex-residents, canine and feline, fundraising events, behaviour advice, topical features and lots more. To read our most current issues visit our publications page.
Figures
We've been keeping tabs on the number of dogs and cats we care for every year since the Home opened in 1860 which is why we can say we've cared for over three million dogs and cats since we started nearly 150 years ago. Find out more.
