The world’s top designers are swapping the catwalk for the dogwalk for one night only to help unwanted and abandoned dogs stride out in spectacular style for a truly unforgettable and never been seen before fashion event.
We've got a sneak peek for you of two of the coats, designed exclusively for Battersea. They include a coat designed by Jenny Packham, which is modelled by Frankie the Beagle (above), and Matthew Williamson's design, modelled by Cree the Rottweiler cross puppy (below.)
Jenny Packham said: “The coat is a development from a costume made for Dita Von Teese and is a Doggy ‘multi coloured dream coat’ made for a trip to Doggy Eden,” while Matthew Williamson said: “My muse was my American cocker spaniel, Coco….she is very chic!”
Also designing dog coats and canine accessories for Battersea are:
Giles Deacon, Ben De Lisi, Faberge, Jeremy Hackett, Henry Holland, Stephen Jones, Derek Lawlor, Julien Macdonald, Stella McCartney, Mulberry, Jenny Packham, Gareth Pugh, Trevor Pickett, Philip Treacy, Matthew Williamson, and Vivienne Westwood.
The coats will be auctioned to help raise money for Battersea, so check back in early November for details of how you can place a bid for one of these beautiful creations.
The wow factor continues with international supermodel David Gandy leading the canine fashion pack for a fundraising event all about celebrating Battersea dogs. Battersea’s first Ambassador will partner with leading fashion journalist and stylist Hilary Alexander to present the designs at the Gala Ball taking place at Battersea Evolution.
Battersea’s star-studded Collars & Coats Gala Ball is now in its fourth year and this year’s spectacular event will be hosted by Paul O’ Grady MBE and Amanda Holden. Every ticket brought will help give thousands of dogs and cats a second chance in life. For more information or to be part of this truly amazing evening visit www.collarsandcoats.org.uk.
