Have you ever thought of how exciting it can be to foster a dog? The following dogs are all looking for loving new owners but are currently with temporary foster homes, as they are either receiving medical respite or find it difficult to settle in Battersea’s busy kennel environment. Temporary dog fostering can help a dog to re-adjust back into home life, and give it a better chance of settling in with its eventual new family. At the same time it helps its temporary owners to discover how much they can learn when living with ‘human’s best friend’.

Jenny
Old Windsor
Jenny is an affectionate, gentle natured dog who finds kennel life extremely stressful and unsettling. For this reason she is in a foster home and may not be in her kennel.
Jenny adores people and has bonded well with her carers. She could become clingy if allowed but will settle on her own when given guidance. She shows evidence of good previous training and is also house trained and travels well.
Jenny has shown positive social skills when mixing with other dogs but can become impatient and generally prefers to interact with her handler. For this reason we feel she should be the only canine in her new home.
Jenny is looking for a home with experienced dog owners who can provide her with structure and consistency, but also have an understanding of the unsettling time she has had and allow her to settle gradually. When given time and direction Jenny has proven to be a settled and lovable dog that will make a great companion.

Deirdre

Deirdre is currently spending some time in a foster home and has settled really well.
If you are interested in seeing her please contact the centre first so we can arrange for her to be available.

Daisy
Old Windsor
Daisy is currently in a foster home and has settled well, she is sociable with other dogs and people and has some good basic training in place.
Daisy is fun and outgoing and should settle quickly into her new home.

Badger
Old Windsor
Badger is a sweet natured girl who is finding kennel life very stressful. Once settled her sweet affectionate nature shines through.
Badger enjoys playing with toys but enjoys interacting with you more than with toys! Badger enjoys treats and has some good basic training already in place. She currently knows SIT and DOWN.
When out and about Badger prefers to do her own thing. She is happy to meet other dogs but not keen on playing. Due to this and her love of people Badger would like to be the only dog in her new home.
Badger is looking for experienced owners who understand her breed and will allow her to settle into her new home at her own pace. Once settled Badger will be a loving and loyal addition to her new home.

Rory
Old Windsor
Rory is an affectionate and loving young lad who has a gentle nature and is a lot of fun to be around. He already has lovely training in place and is looking for new owners to further his training.
Rory has been quick to learn and responded well to training since arriving at Battersea. He has an enthusiastic approach and a willingness to please which makes him fun to work with.
Rory is sociable with other dogs and has great manners when on the lead, he does become easily over excited when let off the lead. For this reason he is looking for experienced dog owners who understand the commitments of owning a rescue dog and understand Rory's needs. Rory will need a secure, private garden to help with his training and to allow him to play and burn off excess energy.
Rory is looking for active, sensible and patient owners who will listen to all advice and understand that Rory will need some continued input and training.
Once settled this fun and affectionate lad should settle to make a loyal and loving companion.

Star
Old Windsor
Star is a fun girl who has a lively, comical and exuberant character. She has a real zest for life and looks to get fun and enjoyment form any situation.
Star is a small dog but needs owners who can keep up with her activity levels as she is always on the go. She will certainly keep new owners busy wondering what her next trick will be!
Star loves playing with toys and tennis balls are her favourite.
Star has some basic training in place and shows high intelligence. She enjoys learning and would suit owners who have an interest in training or doggy activities such as basic obedience or agility.
Star thoroughly enjoys meeting other dogs and loves to play. She walks nicely on lead and shows good communication skills with other dogs.
Star is looking for experienced owners who have owned and trained a dog before. She will require some further guidance and will need understanding from her owners whilst settling in to a new routine. She is house trained, can be left for short periods and also travels well in the car.
Star will make a very rewarding and affectionate addition to her new home given lots of patience and calm, firm guidance.

Jazzy is currently in a foster home and is proving to be a wonderful companion.
Jazzy is incredibly affectionate and is beautifully behaved.
She loves playing with her toys and enjoys a good play in the garden.
Jazzy is house-trained. She is still getting used to public transport and loves to say hello to fella passengers.
