Josie
Five years ago we went to Battersea. We were drawn to a Labrador and a Red Setter but staff showed us Josie; and they were right.
Josie is a Collie crossed with a Saluki. She seemed quite fazed by the rural surroundings we introduced her to; long grass was difficult, feathers frightening, grassy banks hard to fathom, water very strange, and mud was alien but she has survived and grown to love all these after her urban upbringing, and although she still hangs on to her independent spirit, has learnt many obedience lessons.
Her greatest delight is now an open field, a stick to retrieve (over and over) and a family to bond with – plus an armchair to call her own – what more could we all ask for?
