Before and after
The main contact that Behaviour Advice Line staff have with pet owners is discussing the dog or cat's behaviour issues and trying work through the problem. However, it's always very nice to receive feedback from owners and to find out how the training is progressing. Here are a few success stories.
Katie Robinson and Pip
Katie Robinson contacted the Behaviour Advice Line as she was having problems with Pip, her kitten. Katie says;
"I contacted the Behaviour Advice Line via email as I was experiencing problems housetraining my kitten, Pip. I was given expert advice on how to solve the problem and as soon as I put the advice into action, an immediate improvement was seen. It did take a while for us to fully work through the problem but I can now trust Pip anywhere in the house and we are a very happy family. A fabulous service for pet owners"
Alison Rose and Lewi
Alison Rose gave the Behaviour Advice Line a call as her Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Lewi had separation problems. Alison was unable to leave Lewi on her own as she became very distressed and destructive. The Advice Line staff suggested a course of action and Lewi is making improvements all the time. Alison wrote to the Behaviour Advice Line staff to give them an update on Lewi's progrees. She says:
" Thank you for sending the various leaflets which we have studied and found to be very helpful in giving an inight into why your dog is behaving as it does. Crucially we learned that the dog's behaviour doesn't always mean what you think it does in human terms. Once you begin to put yourself in the dog's shoes you can understand a lot more and previously worrying behaviour becomes easier to cope with. We found we were already doing some of the things suggested but now, if we suffer a set back, we have a better idea of how to approach the problem."
