Expert dog obedience training
Gwen Bailey teamed up with Pedigree to film training videos which aim to assist owners and their dogs
When it comes to dog training Battersea staff are experts. So when Pedigree decided to film a series of training videos, the Home was the natural place to come.
The company teamed up with Battersea Trustee Gwen Bailey (above), who's also the Director of Puppy School in Oxfordshire, to film several videos for the Pedigree Training Academy. Three were shot at the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home branch at Old Windsor and the results can be seen by clicking on the link in the box above right.
In each video Gwen shows viewers how to train a dog, covering topics from recall to stopping dogs from jumping and encouraging them to ignore tempting treats.
While at the Home dogs receive training from volunteers and staff. Depending on their needs, this varies from teaching a simple “sit” to addressing more complicated issues such as toy possession.
