Lost Pets Advice

Battersea's Lost and Found team helps manage the intake of dogs and cats into the Home. Its members accept pets from their owners, show people who've lost an animal around the kennels in the hope of reuniting them with their pet, and handle strays brought into the Home by local authority Animal Wardens. They also work closely with the Lost Dogs & Cats Line.

In 2009 Battersea received over 6,000 lost reports from owners whose pets had gone missing, nearly 10,000 found reports from people who had found a dog or cat and successfully reunited 1,989 dogs and 100 cats with their owners. Unfortunately, the number of cats reunited remains relatively low, although with our Lost Cat Kit and Lost Dog Kit we are hoping to reunite hundreds more owners with their missing moggies.

Here we advise on what to do if you have lost or found a pet.
