Intensive Rescue and Rehoming Programmes

Tailored to the needs of the organisations attending, our intensive programmes take place over four and a half days. They are aimed at managers and staff working in animal welfare organisations and introduce key concepts in organisational management, animal assessing and rehoming, operational practice and identifying and implementing change.

Made up of classroom presentations, facilitated conversations, practical exercises and real-life demonstrations, these programmes provide you with the opportunity to experience and reflect on Battersea practice and learn skills that can be transferred and applied within your own organisation.

Our aim is to provide you with the opportunity to think about how your own organisation works, what could be changed and how that change could be implemented.

The bedrock of our intensive programmes is the concept of building and embedding a sustainable organisation. We explore this through the following content:

  • The sustainable organisation
  • The animal journey
  • Shelter metrics
  • Managing your intake
  • Ethical decision making
  • Identifying change
  • Planning and measuring change

This is then combined with dog or cat specific content, including everything from animal intake and assessing behaviour, to stress management and rehoming.
