Virtual canine life drawing sessions for Valentine's Day
02 FEBRUARY 2021
Love in lockdown can be tricky, but this Valentine’s Day, Battersea is offering couples and singles alike a virtual date with a difference.
We’ve teamed up with Wild Life Drawing to run a special virtual life drawing class on 14 February with some of our beautiful and dashing rescue dogs acting as live models.
Whether you’re looking for a lockdown date with a difference with your Valentine, need a fun activity to entertain the kids or you’re just looking for something fun to do with friends, budding artists can put pen to paper to capture the individual personalities of each of our canine models while helping to support the thousands of dogs and cats that come through our gates each year, all from the comfort of their own homes.
Artist Jennie Webber will host the Zoom class from her studio, while Rehoming and Welfare Manager Rebecca Lodder will chat all about the different dogs and their stories, and give an insight into the work we have been doing for dogs and cats across the UK and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Zoom class will take place from 2-3.30pm on Sunday 14 February.
Tickets are £10 with 50% of proceeds kindly being donated to Battersea.
The session will include a tutorial from Jennie with tips for capturing the different shapes and angles of animals before participants are introduced to the stars of the show: some of our lovely Battersea dogs.
To take part you will need a device with an internet connection, some paper, and some pencils. Other materials and mediums are more than welcome too.
Tickets are available on the Wild Life Drawing Website.
