Battersea’s one-stop shop in Thamesmead offers free pet services to owners

Pet owners are invited to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home's new one-stop shop events in Thamesmead this April.

On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 April, staff from the world-famous charity will be welcoming members of the public and their dogs and cats for veterinary health checks and advice.

Battersea staff will also be on hand offering free microchipping, just over a year after microchipping dogs became mandatory for dog owners in the UK.

Owners can also get free engraved dog tags for their pets and vouchers for cat neutering.

The first one-stop shop will be held at on 8 April at Sporting Club Thamesmead in Bayliss Avenue, SE28 8NJ, from 11am to 4pm. The second will be held the following day in Birchmere Park, Southwood Road, SE28 8GB, also from 11am to 4pm.

Battersea Centre Manager Rob Young said: “This is a great opportunity for pet owners to come along and take advantage of some expert advice and health checks for their animals.

“Battersea doesn’t just rescue and rehome dogs and cats – we also spend a lot of time out in the community educating people about responsible pet ownership so please do visit us when we’re out and about in Thamesmead.”
