More about Captain Pugwash

Yo ho ho, our gorgeous Captain Pugwash has found himself marooned at Battersea in search of new shipmates and a treasured forever home.

Captain Pugwash is a wonderfully smoochy and affectionate young lad who is just waiting for the purrfect home where he can batten down the hatches and spend the upcoming winter nights curled up with his beloved landlubbers!

Captain Pugwash loves to explore, so a garden will be required for all of his swashbuckling adventures, once he is settled.

Battersea screens all cats for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Captain Pugwash has tested positive. FIV is a slow-acting virus and most infected cats live healthy and happy lives for many years. In order to protect other cats from catching it and to preserve the health of the carrier, Battersea rehomes FIV+ cats to homes with enclosed gardens.

Captain Pugwash is looking for a home where he can enjoy some outside access. He needs at least a two bed property with an enclosed garden that he cannot get out of.

He requires plenty of exercise and mental and physical stimulation. He needs a good-sized enclosed garden so he can enjoy being outside without the worry of him leaving the garden or other cats getting in.

If you think you can offer Captain Pugwash the perfect home, please inquire at cat.rehoming@battersea.org.uk and include photos of your enclosed garden in the email, or leave a message on 020 7627 9279 if you want to have a chat about him.

Prospective owners will need to speak to a Battersea Vet prior to rehoming.

Rehoming in three simple steps:

  1. Register - you can do this in person at one of our centres or by calling 0843 509 4444
  2. Match - our rehoming team will help you find your perfect feline friend and introduce you to them
  3. Rehome - after a final medical check and all the advice you could possibly need, you'll be able to take your new friend home with you.
