More about Nala

Meet our exuberant, but sometime shy, youngster Nala!

Nala was originally gifted into Battersea through no fault of her own. She is a lively, affectionate young lady with a heart full of love. She has a lovely history in her previous home, though her owners did note a sensitive side, particularly when left alone and around loud noises.

Since being with us, we’ve seen that same cheerful, full-of-beans personality. Nala has been friendly with everyone she’s met and, although a little worried at first, she quickly makes friends and loves nothing more than some fuss and attention. She is also very chatty! Once out of her shell Nala can become a little over enthusiastic, something that we're working hard on here at Battersea, and new owners would need to continue in their home. We are looking for a mature home only who have some experience with overstimulated behaviours.

Nala enjoys the company of other dogs and has some nice social skills in place, however she can be a thief and wants everything the other dog has. She has also shown some chase with wildlife. Due to this we believe Nala would do better being the only pet in the home, however this could be flexible for an experienced home who have managed multi animal households before with the right expectations.

Half of Nala’s mix is likely an American Bull breed, and the other half is Dutch Shepherd, a highly intelligent breed, each breed having unique traits and energy. We recommend her new owners do a little research into both breeds to make sure she’s the right fit for their lifestyle.

Nala will thrive with owners who can provide her with plenty of physical and mental stimulation, as well as ongoing socialisation and positive, reward-based training. This delightful young pup has so much love and fun to give. With time, patience and guidance, Nala will grow into a well-rounded, joyful companion who’ll bring endless fun and affection to her forever home.
