Dog behaviour training for businesses
Our training provides guidance and assistance for companies with staff who work directly with dogs, or who regularly come into contact with dogs at work. We give advice on how to act around new dogs, minimise the risk of incidents and how to act in the event of an incident.
The Canine Welfare Trainers at Battersea have many years of experience evaluating and assessing dog behaviour. They assess the safety of every dog that comes into the Home and have trained thousands of working dogs including police dogs, gundogs, security patrol dogs, Border Force dogs and even animal actors.
Dog behaviour and safety training for businesses
Duration: One day course
Cost: £125 + VAT
Course times: 9.00am until 4.00pm at our London centre
This course has been designed specifically for anyone encountering unfamiliar dogs in the workplace. It is ideal for staff who regularly come into contact with dogs in customers' homes. The course provides insight into dog behaviour and practical advice on dealing with potentially dangerous dogs.
The day includes a morning session of dog behaviour and body language theory followed by a practical afternoon session with demonstrations carried out in kennels and interactive exercises with ex-Battersea dogs.
The course outlines what may trigger a dog attack or bite, provides information on how to recognise and reduce the chances of a dog attack and what to do if it does happen.
Mark Batcheldor, Manager of Training and Development at EDF Energy said “We’ve been working with the experts at Battersea to help our public teams reduce the risk of potential injuries from incidents involving dogs and to keep them safe when out in the field. I’d recommend this unique training to anyone who might come across dogs at work.”
