More about BELLA

Sweet Bella came to Battersea as a stray so sadly we have no history for her first few months of life.

Since coming into Battersea, we have found Bella to be a very sweet but sensitive girl and has shown worried behaviours particularly during her settling in period. In her first few days in kennels, she had some worried grumbles and would back herself into the corner of her kennel. Given some time and space, she warmed up to members of staff quickly, but still has a worried side to her when meeting new people. New owners must be patient and understanding of Bella's worried nature when meeting new people. They must give her all the time and space to settle, bond and find her feet in her new home.

During her settling in period, Bella also showed to be worried when out on walks around our busy London site and around general handling. She has built in confidence nicely during her stay at Battersea and is showing much more relaxed behaviours now she has settled into kennel life.

Bella will need understanding owners who are experienced with nervous dogs. They will need to be patient, read body language well and be confident to put in all the confidence building this young girl needs to become a well rounded adult. She has such a sweet side to her once bonded and is now even showing to become excitable when seeing her people! With some confidence building, she is sure to make a lovely companion in her new home.
