Meet some of the cast...

Meet the Team
The dogs and cats of Battersea are cared for by 300 staff and more than 800 volunteers. We’d like to introduce you to some of them.
Ali Taylor
Head of Canine Welfare Training
Ali had her work cut out keeping Paul O’Grady in line, but 20 years at
Battersea is a great help! Our Head of Canine Welfare Training travelled
the world before making Battersea her home, but beware if she invites
you for lunch – her other ideal guests would be Hannibal Lecter and
Gnasher the Dog.
Brian Brady
Canine Welfare Trainer
How did Brian
Brady make the trip from digital media consultant to Battersea Canine
Welfare Trainer? Well, The Tweenies, Bruce Springsteen and a huge
capacity for falling in love had a fair bit to do with the journey.
Helen Stone
Canine
Welfare Trainer
Horses, chickens, donkeys, bears, lambs and now dogs and cats – Canine
Welfare Trainer Helen Stone has lived a life in animals. Now all she
needs is a happy ending from Dawn French.
Shaun Opperman
Veterinary Director
After 20 years at Battersea, Head Vet Shaun Opperman is still awed by the passionate and committed people he works with, and all the wonderful owners who give our dogs and cats loving new homes. And in the film of his life, he’d like to be played by Hugh Laurie.
Phil Robinson
Veterinary Surgeon
Phil Robinson
fancies running his own farm, but our Veterinary Surgeon needs some tips
from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall first. Especially when it comes to
tomatoes.
