What we do - all about Battersea Dogs & Cats Home
Established in 1860, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims never to turn away a dog or cat in need of our help. We reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners through our Lost Dogs & Cats Line or care for them until new homes can be found, giving them shelter and the highest standards of veterinary care.
We were the first animal welfare organisation to establish a dedicated Behaviour Unit and our experienced staff give every animal that comes into our Home a detailed temperament and behavioural assessment.
We offer extra training and socialisation to those that need it, and detailed help and advice to new pet owners through behaviour programmes and our Behaviour Advice Line.
We also educate the public about every aspect of responsible pet ownership.
For an overview of what we do please watch our short film entitled 'All about Battersea', below, which was filmed across our three sites and features many of our staff and residents.
It provides a great introduction to our work and is played in all of our reception areas as well as at events we attend. It really does sum up why Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is so special.
Educational Talks and Visits
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home offers educational talks about the Home for schools and other organised groups. The talks are given by experienced Battersea Dogs & Cats Home staff and volunteers, and can be held at your organisation or at one of our Battersea sites.
