Volunteer with us
We would not be able to give our dogs and cats the high standard of care we are so proud of without our dedicated team of volunteers. Over 260 volunteers provide companionship, stimulation and exercise for our dogs and cats.
Ways you can volunteer
There are a number of ways you can volunteer at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home from working directly with our animals to helping out with events and in our offices.
- Dog socialiser/walker - spending time with dogs in and out of kennels
- Cat socialiser - spending time playing with and grooming our cats
Socialising is very important to the mental and physical well-being of the animals as it helps them to become more relaxed in this environment, helping them on their journey to a new home.
Volunteers also help behind the scenes with administration across various departments and represent the Home at shows and events.
- Event volunteer - helping out at one of our many fundraising events throughout the year.
- Office volunteer - helping our various departments across the Home, gaining valuable experience within a charity environment.
Volunteers operate across all three sites, Battersea, Old Windsor and Brands Hatch.
Why volunteer with us?
- To develop existing skills and gain new ones
- To meet new people
- To find out more about what we do and be part of a team
- To have fun
- To do something that is both challenging and rewarding
- To spend quality time with our dogs and cats
