More about BEAU
Introducing our handsome Beau!
Beau is a German Spitz, who came to Battersea when his previous owner could no longer care for him.
Beau is an affectionate little guy with a friendly disposition, and is good with both adults and children.
True to his breed, Beau can be quite vocal. New owners would ideally have experience with the type of dog that likes the sound of his own voice, as this will need a little work. Beau would be best suited to a location where this will be less likely to impact neighbours.
While he has demonstrated some social skills with other dogs, he still needs to learn some basic manners as he can come on a little strong at first. Once he becomes acquainted and calms down, he enjoys initiating a good play. We feel that, at this time, he should be the only dog in the home.
Familiarity with Spitz breeds would be a significant advantage, helping new owners understand what to expect. Beau will need ongoing training at home, so his new family will need patience and commitment to help him settle in and learn. In the right hands, we believe Beau will grow into a well-rounded adult and a loving companion, as we've already seen glimpses of that potential in him.
Beau is looking for a home in a very quiet location as he can be easily frustrated by people & dogs passing and will need quieter walking routes whilst his training and handler focus is worked on. He could potentially live with sensible older children & will need a home with a secure garden.
