What we do

What we do

At Battersea, we take the time to get to know the needs of every dog and cat that walks through our doors so we can give them the love and expert care they deserve.

Our work goes beyond our three centres. It’s why we share our knowledge, provide training and grant funding to animal rescue partners around the world, offer online pet advice and training to anyone who needs it, and campaign to improve the lives of dogs, cats, and their owners.

However they need us and wherever they are, we're all in, for them.

Finding new homes for dogs and cats

We give every animal personalised care and spend lots of time getting to know them so we can make sure we find the best new home or working role for them.

Rehabilitating dogs and cats in need

Expert care is at the very heart of Battersea. Learn more about how we do our best for dogs and cats, every day, with the resources we have.

Campaigning to improve animal welfare

Championing fair rental policies for owners and their pets, emailing your MP about animal welfare legislation, and sharing our campaigns on social media are just some of the ways you can support.

Sharing our expertise to support pet owners everywhere

From basic training to knowing which foods are toxic for pets, our expert team has everything you need to know to care for your dog or cat.

Working with other rescues, in the UK and beyond

While we'll always focus on caring for animals at our three centres, we can do more for dogs and cats when we extend our support beyond our gates.

We are proud ADCH members

Battersea takes a leading role in the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH), an organisation of dog and cat rescues working across the British Isles. We support, inform, and collaborate with these rescues so we can speak with one voice and learn from each other.
