More about BURT
Burt is an anxious and apprehensive dog who needs patient owners to help guide him and give him the confidence to start enjoying the world. He is based at our Old Windsor centre.
With a gentle approach, Burt likes a fuss and will try to climb onto a lap. It takes him a little time to feel comfortable with people but he's naturally curious and will head over for a sniff and soon relaxes. He is playful with toys and particularly likes soft toys and tennis balls and chases them. Although he's a quiet dog at the moment, he shows some true Terrier traits and we're sure his character is just waiting to shine through.
One of the areas that Burt struggles with most is walking. He is very timid out and about and does not walk very far at the moment, however he does gain some confidence from other dogs and so he is looking for a home with one or more existing dogs who can show him that, in time, walks can be enjoyable. He could live with a similar sized steady dog who will have a fun game but who is also steady and confident, so they can be a role model for Burt.
Burt will need experienced owners who are willing to give him time to settle, as well as all the training he needs. He is a busy dog in areas where he feels comfortable and likes to use his brain, so would like owners who are interested in fun activities in home and garden to keep him busy as he settles and builds his confidence walking out and about.
