More about JOEY
Joey is a bright and intelligent Husky Cross Pomeranian based at Battersea Old Windsor. He loves to spend time with his favourite people. He can be chatty at times and sometimes barks when looking for attention.
He is looking for experienced new owners who would like a fun, active dog to do further training with.
Joey is spending time in a temporary foster home where he walks nicely on lead, sleeps well overnight, has been house trained and settles well when his foster carer is working from home. He enjoys his food and will sit and wait patiently whilst it is being prepared. He knows several commands such as "sit", "paw", "here" and "down". He is an affectionate dog who likes to be stroked, bring you his toys and travels well in the car.
Joey enjoys his toys when he is calm and relaxed and loves to gnaw on soft squeaky toys along with rubber toys too. He thinks a game of tug is great, but hasn't quite mastered fetch yet. However he enjoys catching a ball or any toy. He knows a 'drop' command and would be eager to learn more.
Joey can find other dogs very exciting and he can get frustrated when seeing them, sometimes resulting in him barking. However, this has lessened a lot since he has been in a foster home. Once he has greeted a dog, he is then fairly independent and likes his own space. He is not looking to live with another dog. Joey's owners will need to be prepared to continue his training around dogs when on walks, building on the great strides he has made in the foster home.
Joey loves attention and is happy to greet new people in a friendly and sociable manner, he will sit nicely with visitors wanting their attention.
Joey is a fun dog who will happily lay across your lap having fuss and attention.
