More about KOBE

Kobe is a spirited, goofy and energetic adolescent dog looking for experienced, dedicated owners. He is based at our Old Windsor centre.

Kobe has a fun, affectionate and mischievous character with those he knows, but he has a strong character and has a number of areas of on-going training that his new owners will need to be comfortable taking on. Kobe has shown to be anxious and worried in certain situations and this can be the cause of some of his behaviours - he is uncomfortable at the vets and with certain elements of handling and needs ongoing support and management around this. He can also find meeting some new people worrying and can react, but with some time and patience he soon shows his more relaxed side. Kobe is quite a vocal dog when on his walks; sometimes this is directed towards other dogs but it can also be due to general frustration or excitement.

With other dogs, Kobe has not always been very confident but we have put some training in place to help him. He can greet other dogs, though sometimes forgets his size and can be a bit too much for some dogs, but he can sometimes bark at dogs that he is unsure of. He needs to live as the only pet in his new home so that he can concentrate on his one-to-one training when interacting with dogs.

Kobe loves playing with toys and is lots of fun when he is enjoying a game, and he adores food so these are great to use for both his training and also to give him varied and interesting activities to keep him occupied.

He does not like being left alone and so will need owners who are able to commit to being around for Kobe as he settles, and who appreciate it may take some time to get him used to spending short periods of time alone.

At this stage of his life, Kobe needs consistent training and experienced owners who are looking for a bit of a project, but h's responsive to training and forms bonds to people well.
