More about SPENCER

Spencer is a bubbly and charming Deerhound cross who is ready to find his forever home. He has a loving nature and enjoys making friends with both humans and dogs. Spencer has had no issues with making friends with everyone he has come across during his stay. Once you know Spencer, you will have a friend for life and he loves nothing more than fuss and affection. Spencer is based at Battersea Old Windsor.

Spencer has shown promising social skills with other dogs; he has a calm and polite manner and mostly just wants to say hello to another dog before plodding off to do his own thing and explore his surroundings. He may be able to live with another dog of a similar size and nature who isn’t going to pester him for too much play.

As he came into our care as a stray, we don’t know his history. He is looking for new owns who can take a patient approach to his care and allow him to settle into a new routine at his own pace.

The way to Spencer’s heart is through food, he will never turn down a treat. He is not fussy in the slightest and will happily take treats of any value that are offered to him. As he is so foody, this can be used as a training motivation tool to help with his on-going training. To help make meal times more interesting and to help keep his brain busy, Spencer has been using puzzle feeders and Kong's for each of his meals which he really enjoys.
