Finn's Story

30 Oct 2024

Finn came to Battersea as his owners could sadly no longer look after him. A friendly and loving cat, Finn adored human company and affection, especially when a warm lap was on offer.

Finn quickly settled into life in the Battersea Cattery, showing off his confident, warm-hearted nature, winning lots of new human friends and showing off his party trick of opening doors. His sociable ways earned him the nickname “Flirty Finn.”

Finn remained upbeat even when his carers noticed that his mouth looked sore and seemed to be causing him some discomfort.

Battersea’s skilled clinic team discovered an ulcer in Finn’s mouth and further investigations revealed that the ulcer was very likely an allergic reaction. To determine what Finn’s allergy might be related to, he was placed on medical treatment, treated for fleas and began a hypoallergenic diet. The new diet worked wonders, soon Finn’s sore mouth was showing great improvement, and he was fully back to his happy-go-lucky self.

After a month in Battersea's care, Finn was ready to start a new life, and it wasn’t long before he charmed a family from Surrey. Finn is now happily enjoying his loving new home.

Finn (now Dave) has settled in amazingly with us and is loving his new surroundings. He was so confident from the outset, incredibly loving and a pleasure to have around. Unfortunately, his mouth ulcer recurred but our local vets have been wonderful at understanding the situation and he is recovering well again now. Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to have Finn (Dave) join our family.”
