The triumphant feline is without doubt the cat that got the cream. Following weeks of frenzied campaigning from all six candidates, Midnight clawed his way to the top with a landslide victory of 49% of the public vote.
Whilst campaigning for the title with his popular pawlicies, Midnight promised moggies across the country networking parties for cats in Downing Street, compulsory cat-related Prime Minister’s Questions every Wednesday, and a new Feline Select Committee and APPG.
Victoria Prentis, proud owner of Midnight and Conservative MP for Banbury, said: “I am thrilled that Midnight’s dedication to the campaign has paid off. I know that he will be getting to work on implementing his manifursto commitments straightaway. Finding good homes for all the rescue cats currently living in temporary accommodation is a top priority. No doubt Midnight’s first Purr Minister’s Question Time will be a lively affair.”

Lindsey Quinlan, Head of Catteries at Battersea, said: “A huge congratulations is in order to the newly elected Purr Minister, Midnight. This whiskered winner did a meow-vellous job campaigning for greater cat pawlicies and we look forward to seeing him represent moggies across the country. We think he will do a furbulous job in his newly elected post.”
