More about Bonnie

This is Bonnie, our young Bulldog lady!

She’s a sensitive lass, who can find the world a little overwhelming at times, so she is looking for patient and understanding new owners to help build her confidence and discover what joys life has to offer.

Bonnie has shown to enjoy the company of other dogs and be friendly but lacks confidence greeting them sometimes and needs continued positive experiences to help improve this. She would benefit from regular canine friends to walk with, whilst at Battersea she has gained confidence exploring our site by following her calm companions. We have also seen her become quite worried of larger and more excited dogs.

Bonnie would benefit from a quieter household as she can be quite sound sensitive. She can be reluctant to walk sometimes when overwhelmed, and needs time and reassurance to encourage her to continue on. Quieter, more secluded, walking routes would be beneficial for Bonnie to minimise this happening. She will also need her own private garden to exercise in on the days when she doesn't want to go out.

Although underconfident with handling and a little wary of new people, when she feels comfortable with you she is incredibly affectionate and has the potential to blossom into a loving companion. She is currently on foster and has decided she is a lap dog! We have also seen her be very playful with toys on foster, especially loving tennis balls and squeaky toys!

If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Bonnie, you can e-mail our rehoming team on bbh.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.

We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual animal, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here (https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming).

Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.

Rehoming FAQs

Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.

This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest.  Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.

If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:

  • Microchipping
  • Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
  • Neutering
  • A collar, identification tag and lead
  • Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
  • Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings

Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
