More about CARTER

Sweet Carter came to Battersea due to his owners ill health and through no fault of his own. He generally has a lovely history with his people and other dogs.

Since coming to Battersea, Carter has found being in kennels quite stressful and on occasion has demonstrated some mouthing and stress humping behaviours. He is a smart boy and has picked up all training onsite quickly. He's been a friendly and excitable lad with everyone he's met at Battersea, with a lovely affectionate side to him.

Carter's history stated he was a friendly boy with all the dogs he met. Onsite, we have seen that he is mostly playful with other dogs but does have a sensitive side to him, at times worried or conflicted of more animated dogs. He has also demonstrated some sexual behaviours towards other dogs, but is able to go back into play and isn't persistent with these behaviours.

Carter will need new owners who are experienced and confident with bully breeds. They will need to put in some training around his stress behaviours, ensuring to keep him calm and build up his confidence to new places and around other dogs. He is a lovely dog with a sensitive but very loving nature to him. Once in a home where his stress levels can come down he is sure to make a great little companion in his new home.
