More about Casper

Say hello to our beautiful teenager Casper!

Casper is a young Golden Retriever who came into Battersea displaying behaviours typical of an adolescent dog. He was recently rehomed but returned after a couple of days due to challenges with overstimulation and resource guarding, highlighting the importance for Casper to be rehomed to new owners that can provide him with ongoing guidance and consistency as he matures.

Without consistent supervision and management, these behaviours are likely to continue throughout adolescence. Caspar's training should focus on reliable drop cues, appropriate exchanges, settle cues, and “off” cues. Care must be taken to ensure exchanges are managed thoughtfully so unwanted behaviours are not accidentally reinforced. His new home will also need to be Casper-proofed, with items kept out of reach or securely stored to prevent him from accessing them.

Casper would be best suited to an adult-only home with committed owners. He is a truly sweet and affectionate boy with a wonderfully endearing side that is ready to shine as he grows in confidence and maturity. He is a fun and active dog looking for loving, dedicated owners who are passionate about training and prepared to help him become the very best version of himself! He has some excellent social skills with other dogs and is friendly with both known and unknown humans.

If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Casper you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.

We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs

Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.
