More about Charlie

Meet our gorgeous and resilient spaniel-mix, Charlie!

Charlie arrived at Battersea from another rescue after being found stray with a large group of dogs, all whom he got along well with.

Charlie has a wonderful temperament and just wants to meet and snuggle with everyone and anyone!

Charlie came in to us with severe hip dysplasia so our vets successfully performed a double hip replacement surgery on him, after which he has been recovering in a foster home. We don't expect him to need further treatment, but he would benefit from physiotherapy, will have insurance exclusions, he will need to maintain a slim physique going forward. He should be able to exercise normally, but will need new owners who are happy to support him through his continued recovery.

He will wiggle and worm his way into your heart and never let you leave! His new family will need to be able to help him settle in his new home with ease.

Charlie loves other dogs but is at times lacking some manners, and would therefore require his new family to help him gain some manners with some basic training. He could potentially live with another dog, ideally a role model type he could continue to practice good social skills learning from.

Charlie was quite noise sensitive and easily overwhelmed when out and about when he first arrived, buses, trains and bikes frightening him a lot. Though he has gained confidence whilst on foster, he is looking for new owners who ideally live away from the inner city and can dedicate the time to help him build up his confidence to become a well rounded, social and happy young dog.

Charlie will make a wonderful companion to anyone who's happy to have a fluffy shadow cuddled up to them.
