Meet cute Ciara!

Sweet Ciara arrived at Battersea after being gifted in by another rescue, who had acquired her after her previous owner could no longer provide her with the care she needed. Ciara is an absolute lover, very eager to please, and extremely keen to learn! She is a young, healthy and active dog who has shown great potential for agility training!

Ciara spent time on foster prior to her arrival with us, where she was described as being a sweet friendly but needy and anxious pup. Onsite Ciara has been as her previous carers described. She is an energetic pup and can be easily overwhelmed by the world around her. She seeks a lot of reassurance from her people.

Ciara can be worried around new people and dogs but once she gains some confidence she becomes a very affectionate and playful!

Due to her anxious nature and lack of socialisation in life, Ciara is looking for owners who have experience with nervous dogs and how to appropriately socialise them and introduce them to the world around them in a positive and constructive manner. She is a Cockapoo, which is a breed known for its separation anxiety tendencies and high energy & intelligence.

Ciara is progressing well with her training to help with alarm barking at towards strangers and dogs. For this reason, we feel that Ciara would be best suited to a home in a low dog and human populated area, outside of the city, with an environment that is less overwhelming that can facilitate her confidence building training. Homes with experience training reactive dogs and willing to continue training already put in place, would be ideal.
