More about Danish
Meet Danish! A sensitive soul looking for a fresh start.
Danish arrived at Battersea from a hoarding situation where she lived with over 100 other dogs and likely has a background similar to puppy farm-type dogs. She’s had a difficult start to life and is a very worried, underconfident girl, but has made great strides during her time with us and her cheeky personality has started to come through when with her bonded handlers.
She is shy around both new and familiar people, and is particularly hand-shy and uncomfortable with being handled. While she’s starting to make small steps with people she knows, she will need a calm, patient home where she’s never rushed.
Danish needs an experienced, understanding home, ideally with someone familiar with anxious or under-socialised dogs, alongside dogs with uncomfortable behaviours around handling. She can be vocal when something spooks her, and she becomes easily overwhelmed in new environments. Despite this, she is curious and has a playful, funny character which shines through when she is feeling confident. Everyday things like walking on lead and going outside may be completely new to her, and she’ll likely need training from the very beginning.
Danish could be able to live with a dog-savvy cat given slow, careful introductions. She will need a quiet, adult only home without any regularly visiting children, which is essential to help her feel safe and supported. Due to her worries and noise sensitivity, Danish will need a home in a quieter location, with a private garden. She could potentially live with a calm, independent, role-model type dog of a similar size to whom she can look for reassurance and guidance as she learns the ropes of the big big world.
Danish may always be a sensitive soul, but with time, patience, and love, she has the chance to blossom in her own way.
