More about Dolce
Meet a greyhound with a party trick up her sleeve - she can sit!
Dolce is a retired racing Greyhound. She is a gentle sweetheart, but can feel worried by new environments and changes. She briefly lived in a home before but struggled with being left alone, so she will need patient owners who are around most of the time and can give her plenty of time, reassurance, and a gradual settling-in period. As she has little experience of it, the outside world can feel overwhelming for Dolce and she may put on the brakes when anxious, so calm, quiet walking routes and owners who are happy to go at her pace are essential.
She is friendly with other dogs and gains confidence from walking alongside them, so she could live with a calm canine companion or enjoy regular doggy walking friends.
Dolce will need a quiet home away from the city with a private garden, where she can feel safe, build confidence, and explore at her own speed. She would be best suited to an adult-only home, or possibly one with sensible, respectful teenagers who understand her need for space and gentle handling. With understanding, consistency, and kindness, Dolce will blossom into a loving, loyal companion who forms a deep bond with her people
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Dolce, you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest. We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those homes that are a match for the dog in question.
