More about EUGENE

Meet lovely Eugene

As Eugene came to Battersea as a stray, we sadly have limited information for the first few years of his young life.

Since coming to Battersea, Eugene has shown to be the sweetest soul. He does have a sensitive side to him and has found kennel life quite stressful at times. He is a little worried by new people, but quickly warms up to them and does really love human company. He is affectionate and playful, often getting the zoomies, but enjoys calm hands-on fuss the most.

Eugene will need new owners that will help him build up his confidence; he is friendly and playful with dogs, if slightly vocal at times, but again lacks confidence and is slightly worried by over-the-top dogs. Eugene has also shown himself to be worried by small dogs.

Eugene would benefit from owners with experience of nervous/sensitive dogs. You would ideally be familiar with sighthounds, or have done ample research into the breed so as best to meet his needs and manage those typical breed traits. Owners that are willing to put in some training around confidence building and socialisation/exposure would also be ideal. He has picked up all his training here very quickly and is a very smart boy!

As Eugene will need to be muzzled and on lead in public , we are looking for a home with a private secure garden, where he can burn energy off lead safely, and carry on his training in a safe space away from distractions.

If you think that he might just be the companion you are searching for, then please contact the Rehoming team in London ASAP at rehoming@battersea.org.uk, providing an overview of your previous experience with dogs, current set up and how you can meet his needs.

Please ensure you have registered for rehoming on our website here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming, prior to contacting us about Eugene.
