More about Gus

Gus is a bundle of fun and a true Terrier, he is based at our Old Windsor centre.

Digging, chasing and long walks are a few of Gus' favourite things and his owners need to be fully prepared for a lively, active dog who has a very high prey drive too. He is friendly with people and loves a fuss, but isn't a lap dog to sit around all day - he needs to be out and about being kept occupied. As he has such a strong prey drive, he'll likely need to be kept on lead on walks to help keep him, and wildlife, safe. He'll need his own very secure garden where he can run around and his owners may also like to consider hiring larger, secure areas for him to burn off energy too.

Gus is playful with toys and particularly likes a squeaky toy or soft toy. He enjoys his food and we use all sorts of fun ways of feeding him to keep him busy, such as puzzle toys, boxes so he has to search for his food and this would be great for new owners to carry on at home.

He needs to live as the only dog in his new home and cannot live with smaller animals either. Whilst he will greet other dogs he doesn't particularly want to interact much and really prefers people or to be out exploring. When not out on walks, he is an affectionate dog and likes a fuss and is always happy to greet people. He'll be so much fun for an understanding home and with owners who like to be out and about.
