Meet the amazing Hilda, our wirehaired dachshund!

Hilda is a young, energetic, and playful lady who is always eager to learn. She is building confidence with staff onsite and will thrive in a quiet home with experienced owners, ideally with knowledge of training reactive dogs or experience with the breed. Hilda is very typical of a vocal dachshund, and her new family will need patience and consistency to guide her confidently.

She can be vocal and alarm bark at the sight of other dogs, which is usually due to under-confidence. However, once she meets them, she has shown she can be sociable, especially with playful but respectful dogs. Hilda will benefit from training to build her social skills and help her make calmer choices around other dogs. She can still be worried by over-the-top play styles.

Hilda adores her known humans and loves bonding through toy play sessions. A private garden would be ideal for keeping her busy, continuing her confidence-building, and practicing recall in a low-distraction environment.

With the right guidance, Hilda will be a devoted, fun, and loving companion for a family ready to support her growth.
