Meet Jet, our sweet Collie cross!

Jet arrived at Battersea as a gift and through no fault of his own. His previous owners described him as affectionate, cuddly, and full of kisses — and we’ve seen the same lovely boy onsite. Although a little overwhelmed when he first arrived, Jet has since come out of his shell and is now a bouncy, excitable lad who loves human attention from those he knows.

Jet enjoys the company of other dogs and can greet them in a friendly way, though he can sometimes come on a little strong. He can also be a little worried and reactive, especially on lead. For this reason, we feel he would prefer to be the only dog in the home, with owners who are confident in socialising him in neutral spaces.

Jet has a history of growling over his food bowl, and we have observed similar behaviour onsite. His new owners will need to continue the training we have started and be confident in managing this from day one to set him up for success. He will also need plenty of mental and physical stimulation to help him develop into a well-mannered adult. Jet has responded very well to training in this area and we have not had issues around food lately.

Jet would thrive in a home away from the inner city, ideally with access to his own private garden. Due to his worries around new people, handling, and resource guarding, he is best suited to an adults-only household. Jet would also benefit from owners who enjoy breed-appropriate activities to keep him engaged — he is far too intelligent and high-energy for a “typical” family pet.

This lovely lad has a heart of gold and a lot of love to give. With the right home, he will be a loyal, affectionate, and devoted companion to his lucky new family!
