More about Lainey

Lainey is a friendly and affectionate Jack Russell cross who adores human company and loves being close to her people. She is currently based in Battersea Old Windsor

Lainey is comfortable meeting other dogs and is happy to say hello before carrying on with her day. She can feel a little unsure around much larger dogs who lean over her, so she may crouch or choose to move away. If she were to live with another dog, she’d likely do best with one closer to her size and not too boisterous.

Any dog Lainey lives with would need to be relaxed about sharing their space and belongings, and comfortable with a busy little companion who may trot past or approach while they have toys.

Lainey loves being around people and really enjoys affection. She’s happiest when she can curl up on someone’s lap and soak up attention. In kennels she can become a little over attached and may show some separation stress when left, simply because she loves human company so much. She will be looking to go to a home with minimal leaving hours to allow her to settle in at her own pace.

Lainey really enjoys her walks and loves taking her time to sniff and explore. She’d benefit from calm, steady walking routes at first while she settles into her new surroundings. She can be a little jumpy with loud motorbikes or cars passing by, but with reassurance she copes well.

Lainey has also spent some time on foster. She was a little unsure to begin with, but it didn’t take long for her to make herself at home. At night, she settled in the front room, though but could be a bit restless. Once she was given free roam of the house and could choose to sleep near her foster carer’s bedroom, she relaxed much more easily.

She travels well in the car, though she does prefer being lifted in to help her feel secure.

Lainey is a sweet, sensitive little dog with a big heart. She thrives in a calm, reassuring environment where she can feel safe and included.
