More about Maryland
Meet our sweet Maryland!
Maryland is from an accidental litter and arrived at Battersea through no fault of her own. She was initially kennelled with her siblings, but they had to be separated due to some squabbling.
Maryland is a sweet, lively Presa Canario mixed breed puppy who is just starting to learn about the big wide world. Like all puppies, she is full of curiosity and enthusiasm and loves interacting with people. She can be a little mouthy at times, but this is typical puppy behaviour and she can easily be redirected onto toys.
Maryland has been seen around another dog on site and appeared a little worried and lacking in confidence; however, she did choose to approach the other dog. Once fully vaccinated, she will benefit from positive experiences with calm, well-socialised canine role models to help her build confidence and learn appropriate social skills.
As Maryland is likely to grow into a large, powerful dog, she is looking for experienced and confident owners who understand the needs of bigger, guarding-type breeds. Her new family will need to be committed to ongoing training, socialisation, and providing plenty of mental stimulation alongside appropriate exercise to help her develop into a well-mannered adult.
Maryland is still young and will need support with all aspects of home life, including housetraining and learning to spend short periods of time on her own. She is now looking for a home with owners who are prepared for the time, patience, and dedication involved in raising a young puppy into a happy, confident, and well-socialised adult dog.
