More about Mella

Meet Mella!

Mella is a charming and quirky French Bulldog who came to Battersea as a stray, so we don’t know much about her past. Kennel life was tough for her at the beginning. She found it stressful and can still be a little wary of unfamiliar people. But once she bonds with you, Mella shows her sweet, goofy side. She loves a good bum scratch, chasing tennis balls, and being her playful, cheeky self!

Out on walks, she can occasionally be stubborn, especially if she thinks she’s heading back to kennels or wants to explore a different route. She’s shown sociable behaviour with other dogs, particularly those her size who enjoy play but is quite a typical Frenchie with her greeting style, being a little stiff and hard to read at times! She will need ongoing socialisation in her new home to ensure she is building up her social skills. She could potentially live with a cat, though there’s no history of this.

Mella is looking for a calm home with owners familiar with French Bulldog traits. She’d benefit most from a private, secure garden where she can relax and play, preferably in a quiet, suburban area away from the hustle and bustle. She'll need owners who are patient and understanding of her sensitive nature and are prepared to give her the settling in period she needs to find her feet.
