Meet Nahlah, our super friendly Dogue de Bordeaux x

Nahlah was gifted to Battersea due to her size and strength on lead. Her owners described her as being very affectionate, sweet and very well behaved with them. Her only issue was being too strong on lead for them, especially when excited to see other dogs.

Nahlah has been learning how to walk on a loose lead and working on her recall and has shown huge improvements in this area, focussing on her handlers and not pulling over to dogs. In the short time she spent in her previous home, Nahlah was described as being a sociable girl, often playing with other dogs off lead in the park and was said to have excellent recall.

Since arriving at Battersea, we have seen the same sweet and affectionate girl as described, she absolutely loves her people and wants nothing more than to be with them all the time and when seeing them she will often show appeasing behaviours such as scrunching up her nose (smiling), and getting super wiggly. Nahlah has also showed to be sociable with other dogs during her stay albeit can be quite worried at times and has needed some confidence building during her time with us. She can sometimes be quite vocal when seeing them out on walks but has shown to be responsive to training around this.

Nahlah is looking for a new home in a quieter location, preferably with her own garden and she would prefer to life with a multicarer household who will share her care and give her all the love and squishes she deserves. She would also prefer to be the only animal in the home. and with her sweet, affectionate and playful nature, is sure to become the best addition to any home.
