More about Peach (& Pear)
Peach & Pear are two adorable Toy Poodle crosses who arrived with us as strays. Over their time here, it’s been clear that they share a very close bond, so we’re looking for a home where they can stay together. They’ll also do best as the only dogs in the household where they can soak up all the fuss and attention that they enjoy so much.
Since the pair have arrived with us, they have built some lovely connections with the people they’ve met. Both Peach & Pair can find meeting new people quite worrying and can be sensitive around being handled. With patience, and gentle support, they have both grown in confidence and are now more comfortable being handled. But Peach is noticeably more at ease and confident when Pear is close by.
Pear & Peach have shown to be mostly independent when out on lead walks, and they’re usually able to stay settled when they see other dogs at a distance. They have met dogs of various sizes during their stay with us. Pear is generally comfortable around other dogs and handles greetings well. Peach may be a little vocal at first, but she has grown in confidence during her time with us and is showing much improved manners when meeting new dogs.. They would benefit from some calm steady walking friends to help keep them socialised.
Pear & Peach both enjoy their meals, especially when using food toys such as puzzle feeders and they’re very motivated by food. This makes treats a great way for their new family to help them learn new training cues. Pear already knows a few basic cues like “sit” and “paw,” while Peach is still at the beginning of her training journey.
Peach and Pear would make a lovely addition to a home, bringing plenty of charm and companionship to a patient, understanding household.
