More about PUKKA

Sweet Pukka came to Battersea with her companion Geezer due to a change in their owners circumstances. She has a lovely history in her previous home with both people and other dogs and has shown to be good with children. Pukka is currently on foster while waiting for her forever home, and is showing a little more improvement every day. New owners will need time and patience to allow her to come out of her shell in her own time.

Pukka squabbled over food with her brother, so they were split during their stay with us. On site,Pukka has shown to be a very gentle and rather worried soul. She found kennel life quite depressing and was often lying on her blankets looking quite down.

Although she has been consistently worried around people during her stay, she does warm up quickly and is an affectionate girl. Once bonded, she likes to stay close to her people and will rest her head in a lap for a gentle fuss.

She has been worried when meeting dogs, but has tolerated small dogs bouncing up at her. She mostly wants to do her own thing and stick to her people when other dogs are around. She can find being out on our busy London site quite overwhelming, sometimes trembling when out on walks. She will need to live in a quieter location away from the inner city, to help her build confidence towards the big wide world.

Pukka is truly such a sweet, gentle girl with a sensitive side to her. She will make a lovely addition to her new home as she finds her feet and we hope will blossom once she feels safe and secure in her new family.
