More about Rudi

Meet our lovely Rudi!

Rudi unfortunately arrived to Battersea as a stray, since coming in, he has shown to be a wonderful big dog with the biggest amount of love to give!
He is still young and had his first birthday here with us at Battersea where he was truly spoilt. He has stolen the hearts of a lot of humans and will really bring so much joy to his new family.

Rudi is X-Large size dog already and still growing - he still doesn't seem to know his own size and does consider himself as a very large lap dog! His new owners will need to be able to physically manage him on walks, as he can without effort pull at times. Rudi walks on a harness and has been slowly introduced in wearing a head collar to help aid with strength on walks.

Although playful and friendly with other dogs, we have worked him through some sexual behaviours where he has tried to mount other dogs and can be quite full on when saying hello to them. New owners should be confident to keep up with his socialisation so he can continue to grow into a well mannered adult. Due to his exuberant behaviours with other dogs, he is best suited being the only dog in his new home, he would also largely benefit from a private garden as he has shown to be very housetrained during his time in kennels!

Rudi loves to sniff on his walks and really enjoys exploring natural spaces, this is really useful when taking him on walks as it naturally helps him to slow down and take his time. Rudi has a good set of basic skills in place and will be perfect for those who enjoy training. He has shown to become easily excited, but with some human support and guidance he has gained manners and will need this continued in the home.

He is a big baby who would be a great fit for big dog lovers.
