More about SHERLOCK
Sherlock is a fun loving and youthful Collie cross. He is full of personality and shows many typical Collie breed traits. He is looking for experienced owners that have managed very active dogs and understand the Collie breed. He will need lots of mental and physical stimulation. He is currently based at Battersea Old Windsor.
Sherlock is an energetic and active dog with ongoing training so a private and secure garden will allow him to burn off his energy and can be utilised for daily enrichment and training.
He has shown to be playful around other dogs, but he can struggle when passing or walking towards them. Sherlock is known to stalk and watch, typical to his breed. He has been working on this and is responsive to his training. Due to this we feel Sherlock would benefit from being the only dog in the household at this time. New owners can continue his socialisation with playful walking buddies that can show him the ropes and provide fun filled playdates.
Sherlock has been social with everyone he has met here and does have a bouncy and boisterous side. When excited, Sherlock can jump up and has become overstimulated at times. He has training in place to encourage calmer interactions. Due to these behaviours, we feel it is best for Sherlock to live with older teens.
We have been introducing enrichment activities such as herding games to keep his brain busy and burn off energy. New owners can also use search games, agility and obedience training to continue this and help Sherlock keep his brain busy.
Sherlock will be a project but will be hugely rewarding for the Collie enthusiast, who will learn to love his goofy personality. If you are interested in rehoming him, please email bow.rehomers@battersea.org.uk or call 01784 494 443.
