Meet our lovely boy Star!

Star came to Battersea for help as it was clear his hip needed further exploration and possible surgery which sadly was the case as he had to have the leg amputated.

The little history we have of Star's life describes a really sweet, affectionate and loyal lad who loves walks on the beach and to be around his people, getting all the back scratches and cuddles. We have seen the same lovely lad here onsite, he has gone through so much with his leg yet he has remained the sweetest and most tolerant dog and can often be seen having cuddles with the many members of his fan club!

Star was described as being very independent when meeting other dogs off lead. We have seen much the same, with his onsite interactions despite the fact he was unable to meet other dogs for some time due to his medical issues, he has been very tolerant of some bouncier dogs, choosing to move himself away and will need owners that can help guide him in interactions with dogs when he gets overwhelmed as with 3 legs he can find over the top play a bit too much and needs to be called away to allow breaks. For this reason, Star needs to be the only dog in the home.

Star is one of the easiest dogs to care for, he's so laid back and takes everything in his lopsided stride, he would be fine for first time owners who are looking for an easy dog they can go on slow walks with and cuddle on the sofa!
