More about THELMA

Meet our tender-hearted Thelma!

This gentle girl arrived at Battersea via an ex-racing Greyhound rescue. Thelma is an absolute sweetheart, loving and adoring - typical of her breed in many ways and enjoys nothing more than the company of her people and other Greyhounds.

As an ex-racer, we are recommending that she is kept on lead and muzzled in public areas, so would benefit from access to a secure private garden, where she can run around off-lead to her heart's content!

Thelma is a friendly, loving and sociable girl. She is gentle in her interactions with people and really just wants to be close to you. This absolute darling can often be found sleeping in awkward and hilarious positions (her favourite is lying on her back with her legs up in the air). She loves to lean on your legs and just sort of melt into you!

She has a wonderful character and although as an ex-racer, she can display some chase behaviours, especially when dogs are more animated, she has shown herself to be super sociable with all breeds of dogs and really enjoys making doggy friends. She especially loves other sighthounds and is thrilled when she bumps into Greyhound friends on her walks. She can be a little jealous when living with other dogs and is known to have some sleep startle, so would be best suited to being the only dog in the home.

Thelma has also shown separation anxiety, so is looking for a multi-carer home and someone who can be around most of the time, particularly while she is settling in.

If you feel Thelma could be just the girl for you, please email rehoming@battersea.org.uk. If you have not registered to rehome yet, please do so on our website here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming, before contacting us about a specific dog

Please note that due to the large volume of enquiries we receive, we will only be able to respond to homes that we feel best meet all of the dog's needs.
