More about Toby

Toby is a delightful, kind natured Greyhound with a heart of gold, and a cheeky little side that comes out to play sometimes! He is based at Battersea Old Windsor.

One of Toby's great loves in life is relaxing, and he can often be found curled up in his bed sleeping or watching the world go by. When he settles down he gives a little 'grunt' of contentment and you know he's found the perfect spot in his bed. He adores people and will happily get up to greet you for a fuss, especially if you have his dinner to hand. He also has a fun, cheeky and mischievous side to him and has playful times where he likes to throw a soft toy around, or steal something from a cupboard or rip up a bit of paper! He is a really fun-loving and cheeky dog who cannot help but make you smile.

Toby has spent some time in a temporary foster home where he has been a wonderful house guest. He has been housetrained and may just need a few reminders as he settles into his new home. He also happily sleeps on the sofa at night and is comfortable travelling in the car.

Toby's favourite place is in the garden, he can be out there for hours, mooching around, snoozing or just laying and air sniffing. His new owners will need to not be garden proud as Toby can and will churn up the grass during his zoomies, he also loves to dig holes and drink from ponds or bird baths.

Toby has been worried by some male strangers when meeting them indoors, so new owners will need to manage this.

He greets dogs nicely on lead, but generally likes to keep to himself. He really enjoys his walks, engaging with his surroundings and having a good sniff. He also likes a little zoomie in the garden, followed by a big snooze after he has re-arranged his blankets just the way he likes them into a little nest.

He's a toy-loving goofball who will happily squeak away with the soft ones, keeping himself entertained.

Toby is a really unique character and we'd love to see him settled in his forever home, where he'll reward his owners with so much affection, laughs and relaxed companionship. He is looking for a home that has some understanding or knowledge of Greyhounds, who can appreciate his cheeky side as much as his loving affectionate one.
