Rehoming FAQs

Rehoming FAQs

We currently have fewer dogs and cats available for rehoming at our centres while we roll out some essential system changes with the frontline clinical and welfare teams working with our animals. These changes will enable us to work more efficiently with our animals, provide improved service to our customers and partners, and ultimately help more dogs and cats.

While we make these changes you may also see our animal galleries on our website become temporarily unavailable. But don’t worry – as always, we're still here for all the dogs and cats currently in our care and our galleries will be back up and running soon.

While we make essential system changes  behind-the-scenes, we have temporarily paused new rehoming registrations.

If you’ve recently registered to rehome with us, then we will be contacting you in the coming days to ask you to fill out a new registration online. We will then be able to see if you are a match with an animal in our care.

If you’ve not yet registered to rehome with us, then we recommend visiting our website in a week’s time and completing our online registration form so we can find out a little more about your home and circumstances.

If you've recently registered to rehome from us, your previous registration details will no longer be held in your account area, and you will need to register again once we have completed our system updates. We will email you in the coming days to let you know once you are able to register again.

Battersea is reliant on public donations to fund our important work, and we spend every pound of our income incredibly carefully. To successfully achieve our ambitious vision to help more dogs and cats, we must invest in our data, systems, and technology.

This is essential to helping ensure our charity can best respond to the fast-changing environment we operate in, reach more animals, and remain relevant and accessible to our customers and supporters.
